Viva Las Sydney! Elvis's daughter Lisa Marie Presley plays to sold-out crowd at RSL club... but refuses entry to patrons dressed as her late father
The crowd may have been full of silver foxes and greying dames, but that didn't matter much to Lisa Marie Presely when she played the first show of her Australian tour at Hornsby RSL on Wednesday night.
The daughter of Elvis Presley performed to a 600-strong sold out crowd, not blinking an eye at the mature-aged audience as she sung songs from her new album Storm and Grace.
It was the first but not the last RSL she will play while in the country, with a show booked at Castle Hill RSL on Friday night.
The 46-year-old did ask one thing of her fans though: that none of them dress up as her father or ex-husband Michael Jackson.
The Daily Telegraph reported that the RSL's website warned that 'Patrons dressed as Elvis or Michael Jackson would NOT be allowed to attend the meet and greet under any circumstances'.
But Presley also had some strong opinions on another ex-husband, Nicholas Cage.
The mother of five was famously married to the actor just 10 days after he proposed in 2002, with the marriage lasting 108 days.
Presley told the audience that she was aware Cage was also currently in Australia filming a movie on the Gold Coast, and that she still 'hates' him after their failed marriage.
She spoke about her song Gone, which she wrote after their break-up and has lyrics like: 'Turned out to be a coward.
'When I turned my back you cut my throat it bled for hours. Was that your power.'
Presley is currently married to guitarist Michael Lockwood, and has been enjoying Australia for the first time in eight years with their twin daughters Harper and Finley, 5, and her older daughter Riley Keough, 24, from a previous marriage.
She said she was only going to let them go in water up to their knees at the beach as she was afraid of our sharks.
